Sherford: back to work and Coronavirus update
Site operations - back to work
The Sherford Consortium is committed to protecting the health and safety of those working and living at Sherford, as well as any visitors. In response to the Prime Minister’s Coronavirus statement to the nation on 23rd March, the decision was taken to temporarily close the site.
Since then, the Sherford Consortium has been monitoring and reviewing the situation. After careful consideration and extensive planning, both Taylor Wimpey and Vistry – which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes – have announced a controlled and phased reopening of sites, including Sherford.
The return to site involves adjustments to site safety, protocols and training, as well as introducing new requirements and ways of working. Construction work will commence in a controlled and managed way, with safe operating procedures continually monitored. All parties involved in the site will adhere to all relevant guidance at all times.
We ask that residents and visitors respect social distancing and do not approach site operatives directly. Should there be a need to communicate with the site team, residents or members of the public should email email@example.com. The health and welfare of Sherford residents, visitors, site teams, suppliers and contractors remains our priority.

Sherford's sales offices have reopened, but all viewings are by appointment only for the foreseeable future. Please contact Bovis Homes, Linden Homes or Taylor Wimpey directly to make a booking. It will still be possible for customers to have a virtual tour or viewing.
Following Government guidelines, a number of new steps have been put in place to ensure the safety of customers and staff. The use of screens, PPE and cleansing stations are now in place at the sales offices.
Key workers may wish to note that Taylor Wimpey is offering a new Care Worker Discount of 5% on new homes to NHS staff, care and emergency services workers. Both Bovis Homes and Linden Homes offer a Key Worker Scheme that includes £500 discount for every £25,000 of purchase price, and £3,000 towards flooring.
Should you have an existing customer care issue with your developer, or a new issue arises that you need support with, please note the following information.
Bovis Homes and Linden Homes: An emergency-only response is currently in place, with non-emergency defect rectification works and courtesy visits on hold. The customer services team can help in an emergency, answer queries and raise customer service matters. The team is contactable 8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4pm Fridays.

Outside of these times, you will be diverted to an out of hours service provider. In the rare event you are left without power, water, or heating outside of normal working hours, please contact 0800 9755946.
Taylor Wimpey customers: Although the customer service team is working remotely, you can get in touch in the usual way between 8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4pm on Fridays. Outside of these times, you will be diverted to an out of hours service provider who will assist customers in the event they report an emergency.

The Community Trust is working closely with residents, Local Authorities and Sherford Church to provide advice to residents on local services and support. Resident Association meetings are on hold for now, as are the Council Liaison meetings. Residents are active on group community social media channels and are pulling together to support those who need it – there remains a strong sense of community spirit at Sherford.
