The Sherford Consortium is conducting a review of the work to date at Sherford and considering how the project might evolve to meet the community needs into the future. For a project of this size, which has been in planning for more than 20 years and under construction for two years, periodic reviews are normal. As part of this review, some changes are likely to be implemented to improve future phases of Sherford.
What are the proposed changes?
Applications will be made to tune the planning consent for future phases of the development – after the first 700 homes. Seeking changes to the masterplan for the town, it would allow design evolution, speed up delivery, and embrace more modern methods of construction and drainage.
What are the next steps?
The Sherford Consortium has been running workshops to review what changes might be necessary, working closely with the local authorities and planners. The intention is to work through the formal planning process over the next six to nine months. More details will be provided here when the application has been finalised.
