With only six months to go until the opening of Sherford’s first primary school, Sherford Vale, the first designs of the new school uniform have now been released!

Helen Tipping, Head Teacher of Sherford Vale, and her team, have been instrumental in helping to design the uniform set to be worn by the school’s pupils later this year. Using the colours from the main Sherford Vale School logo, the girls uniform will comprise of a grey skirt, pinafore, shorts or trousers, with grey shorts or trousers for boys – along with a choice of a school navy cardigan or jumper.

Requested by a focus group, older children will wear a white shirt and school tie, and younger children will wear a white polo shirt. Check out the first artist impressions of the new uniform below!

Continuing with the commitment of using local businesses, the uniform will be supplied by Plymouth based store, The Schoolwear Shop. Pop up shops will also be a regular feature in the school, enabling the opportunity to buy uniform directly.

Want to know how the Sherford School logo was designed? The team behind the school began with the squares from the Sherford town logo, each of which represents an aspect of the town. The three squares in the school logo represent:

Top: New horizons – the start of a journey for our new school
Centre: Sustainability and the Devon leaf
Bottom: Our partnership with Westcountry Schools Trust
