MEET ELIANA, SHERFORDS FIRST RESIDENT
Sherford has officially welcomed its first residents, with two sets of homeowners recently moving to the new community, marking one of the biggest milestones in the development’s two-decade history.
One of those residents is Eliana Griffiths, a part time nurse at Mount Gould hospital in Plymouth, who has just moved into her brand new, three-bedroom home – along with her dog, Jake, an 18-year-old Jack Russell.
Speaking about the move, Eliana said: “I’m thrilled to be one of the first residents! I had been looking for a house for a long time, and then I discovered Sherford. I fell in love with its style; the homes have such character and although it’s a new development, there is a real sense of heritage about the design.
“I wanted a home that resembled a cottage, and I found just that. It is great that I won’t have to do any of the work usually required on an older property – it’s all brand new!”
Originally from Brazil, Eliana moved to the UK in 1994 and adds: “I’ve got some space, so am looking forward to my daughter staying, along with friends visiting from Brazil. I absolutely love the location, especially as it’s the near the beach and so close to Plymouth.”
On its completion, Sherford will be a thriving community, complete with schools, shops, businesses, parks and a leisure centre, and is set to be home to over 12,000 people. Speaking about the new town, Eliana said: “Sherford will have everything I need on my doorstep and I’m excited about being part of a new community – it’s one of the things that most appealed to me.”
Brian Deacon, Sales and Marketing Director, Sherford Consortium adds: “There has been a huge team of people working on the creation of Sherford and it’s wonderful to be welcoming the first lady to live here. By the summer there will be lots of people living at Sherford, and removal vans will soon be a familiar sight!”
